Huawei fixes a crucial lock screen bug on HarmonyOS 6


Huawei is rolling out a new HarmonyOS 6 update that brings system improvements and fixes a crucial bug in the lock screen design.

The update is pushed as a patch for devices running HarmonyOS 6.0.0.328. You may have noticed that version .328 has been widely released for Huawei devices in the past few weeks. It brings significant changes to smartphones and tablets due to the new design language.

Specifically, the new lighting UI design and effects, including frost and semi-transparency elements. The key to this upgrade is that it changes the user interactions. For example, the touch animations and light effects on the control panel are now more immersive to look at.

Similar changes are adopted system-wide, such as the lock screen. However, early users found that the lock screen design had an issue with the media player.

It’s noted that the album art and the playback controls have very weak, borderline, which appears borderless. However, the new HarmonyOS 6 update has fixed this bug and made the lock screen music widget more visually appealing than before. With this change, the widget foreground is drawing a different picture than the past version.

Besides this improvement, Huawei has updated the new design language for the lighting effect, and it may also have some hidden fixes for the initial rollout.
