Huawei reportedly has two new mid-range Kirin chips in the pipeline for 2026. One of these will likely go official in the first half of this year, while the second could launch later. In the meantime, we’ll explore these new processors in full detail.
GuoJing noted that Huawei is preparing two Kirin chips for mid-range smartphones in 2026. These are Kirin 9020S and Kirin 9030S. Notably, they might launch for the upcoming Nova lineups.
Last year, Huawei unveiled the high-end Nova 15 series models using the Kirin 9010S chipset. Thus, there is a chance that the newly rumored SoCs may continue to show up with the Nova handsets this year.
Alongside the mid-range phones, the company could also use one of the mentioned chips for the standard Pura 90. Instead of any newbie, the vanilla version of the Pura lineup used to stick to an optimized processor with overclocked cores.
The best example of this scenario is the Pura 80 devices. While the Pro and Ultra models debuted with the Kirin 9020 5G chip, the standard version used the Kirin 9010S.

Hence, the company may use one of the rumored chips for the upcoming standard Pura 90. The details are under wraps. Though we may grab them in the future.
The tipster didn’t reveal the CPU configuration of these chipsets. But he has mentioned another chip that has been in rumors for quite some time – the Kirin 8030. As per him, the new chip has a high yield rate and will deliver improved performance.
Huawei is currently focusing on two major aspects: Chip Performance as well as its production. The company is pouring efforts to improve supply chain problems. In addition, it is making big strides when it comes to performance.
Kirin 9030 series chip is the perfect example in this case. However, it will be interesting to see if 2026 faces a similar challenge to that of 2025 Mate models or shows some noteworthy improvements.
