Huawei is exploring some exciting smartwatch creations, and in the latest scenario, the company has collaborated with the DSM Firmenich to craft a sports wearable – probably the new-gen Watch GT Runner. This speculation makes the news more exciting!
DSM Firmenich is a global leader in nutrition, health, and beauty. It was formed in 2023 by the association of Dutch health & bioscience firm DSM and Swiss fragrance + flavor giant Firmenich. It delivers sustainable solutions in health.
In the current scenario, Huawei has collaborated with the DSM Firmenich’s professional running team to develop a new and smarter sports wearable for its consumers.
Marathon runner Eliud Kipchoge shared a new post on Weibo, saying the DSM Firmenich and Huawei have reached a technical cooperation for a new wearable project.
Following the post, the official Huawei Customer Service confirmed that the two parties are working on a special smartwatch and will launch it soon in the market.
Huawei said:
“We are pleased to announce that, effective immediately, Huawei has officially become the official technology partner of DSM-Firmenich, the professional running team to which @EliudKiipchoge belongs. We will work alongside top runners worldwide to promote the popularization of running and will bring you the brand new Huawei Watch. Stay tuned!“
Something even more interesting is the speculation about the new watch. Since Huawei has joined hands with a Professional running team, it looks like the company is planning to bring back its GT Runner model to its wearable family.
In 2023, Huawei decided to end future launch plans for two of the most innovative smartwatches: Watch GT Runner and GT Cyber. The former used to have a hollow design, allowing more breathable space while wearing it on the wrist.
The device used to have a dedicated AI running coach that helped users to customize their training plans based on gender and physical traits. The reason behind this continuation is still unknown. Yet, the company may change its plan this year.
Huawei hasn’t detailed anything about this wearable. However, we can expect to soon hear some official announcement for this project. Stay tuned.
