Weibo tipster @SmartPikachu noted that the Huawei Mate 80 Air could adopt a new screen format. The smartphone may feature a wide display with a widescreen ratio.
The tipster also stated that the company is preparing new display sizes for its upcoming creations. These sizes include small, medium-sized, and large-scale panels.
For comparison, the Huawei Mate 70 Air equips a 7.0-inch LTPO OLED panel, supporting FHD+ (1320 x 2760 pixels) resolution and 4000 nits peak brightness.
Hereafter, the company unveiled the Mate 80 flagships with 8000nits maximum brightness and several new display capabilities, optimizing the visual effects to a greater extent. Thus, there is a chance that Mate 80 Air may bring significant changes in this aspect.

Huawei Mate 80 Air is also rumored to fill the gap of eSIM tech this year. While the arrival of the fully e-SIM capability was expected with Mate 70 Air, the OEM kept things simple and introduced the dual SIM + eSIM concept with Mate 80.
