Information coming from a Weibo tipster suggests that the Mate 80 GTS will feature the long-awaited cooling fan upgrade. Earlier, the top-end members of the Mate 80 lineup were expected to serve this tech on board.
But Huawei reportedly canceled the upgrade due to complex design and high cost issues. It was even said that the company may skip the new Fan Edition idea and stick to basic cooling upgrades, like a vapor chamber or a micro-pump liquid.

SuperDimensional now notes that Huawei is prepping the Mate 80 GTS with a micro-cooling fan to unlock the complete potential of the Kirin chip and deliver a significant boost in the device’s overall performance.

The tipster added that the cooling fan won’t be big and will easily fit in the device. It will feature 3D facial recognition coupled with a 16:10 wide-screen panel.
Being a special edition, the phone will likely bring 20GB RAM and more interesting tech capabilities to the table. It may debut in March along with the Pura X2 foldable smartphone, catching the limelight.
