Huawei Mate 80 hits 2.8 million units in sales, Xiaomi 17 Ultra dips

Mate 80 series has probably broken all the records in the Huawei family when it comes to sales, and the flagship lineup currently accounts for 2.8 million shipment units. Meanwhile, one of its rivals continues to slow down in the sales race.

RDObservation mentioned that the Huawei Mate 80 series exceeded 2.8 million units in the sales department for the fifth week of 2026. The top-end lineup has been in the market for only a couple of months and still holds the highest units.

The exact sales figure is 2.8032 million units. With the new win, the Mate 80 series has become a phenomenal product in the high-end smartphone market for 2025-26.

While the Mate 80 vanilla variant has the largest share in the sales, other models are on their way to join it. The company has started ramping up the production of the Mate 80 Pro Max and the RS Ultimate with a new 30-day pre-order plan.

On the other hand, Xiaomi 17 series sales are cooling down day by day. In particular, the recently released Ultra model witnessed a huge hike in orders for the first week of sales. But the figure has dropped from 58000 units to 8000 units per week.

The data leaked on Weibo shows that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra sales units are constantly falling week by week. You can check the “per-week” sales of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra:

  • First Week of 2026 – 58000 units in sales
  • Second Week of 2026 – 38000 units in sales
  • Third Week of 2026 – 14000 units in sales
  • Fourth Week of 2026 – 11000 units in sales
  • Fifth Week of 2026 – 9000 units in sales
  • Sixth Week of 2026 – 8000 units in sales

Even though the Xiaomi 17 Ultra debuted with two variants: standard and Leica Edition. Both devices have top-notch specifications, yet they didn’t gain much attention in the market due to their questionable zoom camera ring mechanism.

It would be interesting to see if the Huawei Mate 80 series continues to be the leading flagship for the first quarter of 2026.
