Huawei Mate 80 series supports offline calls/chat feature, and the latest testing shows that this particular tool can perform efficiently even in the Airplane mode. The company itself tested the new capability in the Mate 80 smartphones.
Bruce Lee, the CTO of Huawei Device Business Group, revealed that the all-new Mate 80 offline calls feature can work even under the Airplane mode without any interruption.
Airplane mode is a phone setting that disables all wireless communications like cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and more to prevent interference with aircraft and save battery by cutting distractions like calls, texts, or data sharing.
Since MeeTime calls/SMS feature is also part of offline communication, it cannot operate efficiently under the Airplane model. But thanks to the new Mate 80 series, which comes with an upgraded avatar of this capability, it enhances the experience.
The executive said:
“The terrestrial signal coverage of domestic operators is so good that there has been little chance of using networkless communication. I tried it with my colleagues on the plane today, it was so easy to use, and I was free to send messages and make phone calls in the sky.”

During the test, Lee found that the Mate 80 can send messages and make calls freely while being in Airplane mode. This is eventually possible due to the groundbreaking signal coverage technology in the flagship phones.
Huawei has added a new “wireless communication” option to the MeeTime app that allows offline, short-range (around 7km) communication between Huawei devices via low-frequency bands.
Thus, one can easily make calls or send and receive messages using this ultimate feature from nearby contacts, even without a network connection. Though one must have the Mate 80 smartphone to perform this function.
