Huawei Mate 80 vanilla version has once again defeated the iPhone 17 Pro in the sales department. The standard version is doing great not only in its family but also in top-end smartphone market, taking over other rivals’ spots and aiming for the peak.
A Weibo tipster recently shared a new chart, revealing the Chinese phone market sales in the first week of 2026 where the top three ranking includes the Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 17, and standard Huawei Mate 80.
Even though the iPhone 17 and its Pro Max variants dominate the first and second positions, the Mate 80 has maintained its footprint in the third ranking on the list.
Mate 80 already surpassed the iPhone 17 Pro in the sales war within the first week of its official release. But in the past few weeks, Apple’s flagship regained its position in the Chinese smartphone market due to its amazing design and features.
Now the Mate 80 has once again managed to top the iPhone 17 Pro in sales and ranked third in the latest listing. The fourth spot goes to the iPhone 17 Pro, while the fifth place is taken by the cost-effective Honor X70 model.
Huawei Mate 80 smartphones are really doing great in the consumer sales ground. In just a few days, the flagship lineup became the attention seeker in the Chinese market.
In a recent report, the lineup appeared to be marching towards 1.5 million units. Perhaps it will surpass its predecessors in shipment units with a huge margin.
