Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max supports advanced charging technology

Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max packs several interesting features, just like its RS Ultimate sibling, but the flagship is one step ahead of other models when it comes to charging technology. A new input reveals some key insights about the new Pro Max handset.

A Weibo tipster has been exploring the Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max when he found out about its special charging technology. The top-end smartphone supports a 50W PPW fast charging protocol that ensures super stable and disturbance-free charging.

PPS (Programmable Power Supply) is one of the most advanced charging tech protocols for smartphones. It allows a power adapter and the particular device to interact with each other in real-time to dynamically adjust voltage and current.

Unlike the traditional standards with fixed voltage procedures, PPS makes a charger capable of providing the exact power needed to the device at any moment.

Besides, it reduces heat generation and offers a prolonged battery life with faster, more efficient, and safer charging. The protocol relies on the USB Power Delivery 3.0 standard.

Interestingly, the tipster found that the Pura 80 Pro also has the same tech. But the high-power protocol-based charging dropped from 71.5W to 26W in a few seconds as the device disconnected automatically.

Though that’s not the case with the Mate 80 phone, and it doesn’t break the link while supporting the high-power charging technology, which is great news!

Further, the tipster mentioned that the standard Mate 80 device also has the respective charging protocol support. But certain cables face issues during connection and don’t complete the operation effectively. But you can rely on the Pro models.

Apart from the PPS, the Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max also supports the latest UFCS charging standard and is compatible with all types of adapters without any hindrance.
