Huawei Mate 80 series entered the selling lane on November 28, and within a few days, the flagship lineup has reportedly defeated the Xiaomi 17 series in sales. A new piece of information reveals that 2025 Mate models are doing great in the market.
A Weibo tipster has shared the Huawei Mate 80 series sales performance over the Xiaomi 17 phones. Surprisingly, the former has surpassed its rival in the market demand within a week, attracting consumers to its beauty and iconic technologies.
The tipster mentioned that the Mate 80 smartphones have sold out in three days, with 600,000 units. He even noted that the device has exceeded the ultra-thin Huawei phone – Mate 70 Air, which debuted at the onset of last month.
It is worth noting that the data doesn’t belong to a credible source. Hence, the accuracy of the news remains doubtful. But if true, the Mate 80 series has really launched as a bomber flagship in the Chinese consumer market.
On the flip side, Huawei has used cool strategies to draw consumer attention to its newly launched smartphone lineup. The first one is the name game, where the company replaced the Pro+ model with the all-new and first-ever Mate 80 Pro Max!

Another step was publicly introducing two Kirin chips: 9030 and 9030 Pro. Both chipsets deliver around a 42% performance boost to the new top-end models.
Besides, the Mate 80 series debuts with the second-gen multispectral lens that offers not only photography benefits but also comes with dynamic video capabilities.
Thus, it’s quite obvious to witness an exceed in the Mate 80 series sales. It also suggests that the flagship lineup could hit the predicted “20 million shipment” mark in the future.
