Huawei Mate 80 series is taking the offline and satellite communication to new heights with MeeTime calls and SMS features. The company has now upgraded the respective app with extra distance coverage during calls/SMS over the previous version.
MeeTime is a Huawei app. It is often used for high-definition video + voice calling that enables users to share their screens, annotate during calls, or send messages. And the best part is, the app can run even without network.
It ensures seamless communication between Huawei devices like phones, tablets, smartwatches, and other compatible products. But this time, the app seems to get a major feature upgrade with the flagship Mate 80 series.
The MeeTime app in the Huawei Mate 80 series supports the longest chat and call distance – 7km. It also gets the real-time intercom feature and will support it later.
Simply put, the app will allow users to communicate with contacts over a coverage of 7km, without internet or an appropriate network connection. The official site says:

“When there is a network, it can also be used to communicate without a network. You can receive messages or calls sent by nearby network-free contacts, and reply to messages sent by network-free users within 24 hours.”
On the greener side, the Mate 80 phone users can reach a maximum call and chat distance of 7km in a smooth connection and networkless communication mode.
Thus, networkless messages and call features will need the sending as well as receiving parties to communicate with each other during the operation. It can be used with either device having no network or both having no network and within a visible range of Nearlink communication technology.
How to access the feature?
When you see that your device has no network bar at the top, enter the MeeTime app and select the “Contact Person” option. If the application shows a “no network communication” prompt on the screen, then the device is ready to operate.
