A Huawei Mate 80 user brought an incident to the limelight where the top model spent hours submerged in a river. Despite spending 51 hours inside the water, the phone has proven to have a battle-tank-like durability, emerging just fine!
The Incident:
On December 6, a Yunnan resident accidentally dropped his Huawei Mate 80 smartphone into Yangzonghai Lake while fishing. The device fell to a depth of 3.4 meters in the lake.
Following this incident, the user shopped for a new Mate 80 phone and a fish finder to check if he could still get back his submerged device anyway.
After two days, when he finally received the fish finder, he went back to the lake and successfully found his Mate 80 at a depth of 3.4 meters. He also called for help and retrieved the smartphone from the lake.

Results:
Despite being inside the water for 51 hours, the Huawei Mate 80 remained fully functional, without any dents or damage. It was usable and worked fine with apps, UI, and other operations. Seeing the device in good condition, the user said –
“Huawei phones are the pride of Chinese products, they’re just that awesome!”
The user further revealed that the phone had 11% battery when it was brought out of the water. Even after two days, it had enough battery to allow the user to make a call or text his contacts.
