After unveiling the Mate X7 in China, Huawei has now launched this foldable device for global customers, bringing the latest advancements over the Mate X6.
The key attraction to the Mate X7 lies in its rear side, with a new brocade design made of nanofibers, creating an exquisite look, which reacts to the light direction.
The Chinese tech maker is taking things seriously here; the phone equips a new waterdrop hinge, bringing major upgrades over the Mate X6 with new steel components. Meanwhile, the aluminum frame gives it luxury and supports the design strength.

Huawei has slightly increased the cover and the internal screen sizes. The internal screen now measures 8 inches. This flexible OLED comes with a 1-120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate paired with 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming and 240Hz max touch sampling rate.
The foldable screen has a triple-layer composite for a strong build and extra toughness. According to the lab test, the Mate X7 is 2 times of the bend bend-resistant and 20% impact-resistant over the Mate X6.

The cover has a 6.49-inch 3D quad-curved OLED with adaptive refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling rate. Both of these screens come with high pixel resolutions, powered by new AI HDR to improve image quality for on-screen content.
Huawei says the internal screen’s COE pixel ultra-transparent technology reduced the power consumption by 25%. Despite featuring large screens, the phone is IP59 and IP58 rated for dust and water resistance.
The foldable houses a large heat dissipation system, consisting of a large VC graphene heat dissipation system featuring a 3550 square millimeter VC heat dissipation plate combined with large graphene material. This combination covers a large heat dissipation area and ultra-high thermal conductivity for faster cooling and stable performance.
A large 5,600mAh battery pack ensures long play hours, and it can be recharged with a 66W superfast wired charger as well as a 50W wireless charging support.
Huawei Mate X7 brings a quad camera system, including a 1/1.28-inch large RYYB sensor, which increases light intake by 31%, capturing sharp and brighter images. The main 50MP camera supports a f/1.4-f/4.0 10-stop variable aperture system, enabling a professional camera system in the smartphone.
The Mate X7 offers a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with an f/2.2 aperture supporting 3.5X optical zoom and 100X digital zoom. It also has a 40MP ultra-wide-angle and a second-gen spectral true-to-color camera for better color composition.
That’s not it, the internal and the external screens feature an 8MP camera system for selfies and videos.
