Huawei is seemingly making a new PC called MateBook Neo – similar to Apple as just like its rival, the Chinese OEM can also use a flagship phone chip for the NEO notebook. Is it really possible for Huawei to take such a step for its laptop?
Apple recently launched the MacBook Neo. The affordable PC not only skips certain specs but also has an iPhone processor instead of M series chip for the first time.
Following Apple’s new creation, leaks started telling about the Huawei MateBook Neo notebook that could opt for a similar approach by using a flagship Kirin chip.
New inputs suggest that Huawei might also break traditions and launch its NEO laptop with the Mate 80 Pro‘s chipset, called Kirin 9030 Pro. It’s one of the most powerful Kirin processors to date and seems appropriate for a budget-friendly PC.
Unlike previous versions, the new Kirin 9030 Pro follows a nine-core design. It has 1 large core with 2.75GHz, 4 medium cores with 2.27GHz, and 4 small cores with 1.722GHz. It is further coupled with a Maleoon 935 GPU.
On the other hand, Apple MacBook Neo uses an A18 Pro chipset with a 6-core CPU and a 5-core GPU. Although it relies on 8GB RAM and two storage options: 256GB and 512GB.
Meanwhile, Huawei may use a 24GB RAM and up to 1TB storage, a “far ahead” storage option than the Apple MacBook Neo. Though things are still uncertain.
Huawei hasn’t commented on this news yet. Hence, it is unclear when the MateBook Neo will show up on the stage, and whether it will even use a phone chip or not!
