Huawei has announced another device to launch at the Global Innovative Product Event on February 26 – MatePad Mini. The device has been in the home ground so far and is now coming outside China to challenge Apple’s presence in the tablet world.
Huawei today teased the MatePad Mini tablet, locking its global launch for February 26. The company calls it “All in Mini” and has dropped a video flaunting the size, colors, and form factor.
In the past few years, Huawei has limited its launch of innovative products in the overseas market following the US restrictions. But it seems that won’t be the case anymore.
Looking into the video teaser, it seems the Huawei MatePad Mini will be available in two colors: Spruce Green and Obsidian Black. The design is the same as the Chinese model, with a massive circular camera ring on the upper left corner.
The camera bump has two imaging sensors, a 50MP primary shooter and an 8MP ultrawide-angle lens. The front side has a 32MP camera for video calling purposes.
In addition, the company has hyped a stylus with the MatePad Mini. The tablet size can let you hold it easily in one hand while performing more tasks with the other.
MatePad Mini device appears to be a perfect competitor to the Apple iPad Mini, RedMagic Astra, and others that have been ruling the small tablet market for years.
The teaser further highlights that the Huawei MatePad Mini global variant will use an 8.8-inch OLED PaperMatte display panel. It will weigh around 255 grams and is 5.1mm thin. What new changes the device will bring to challenge its rivals will be known tomorrow.
