Apart from iPhone Fold, Apple is in rumors to launch a flip-flop model in the market this year, and to challenge it, Huawei is seemingly preparing a “mini-foldable” phone. The Chinese OEM could introduce this mysterious model by the end of 2026.
SmartPikachu shed light on the mini-foldable phones coming later this year, and Huawei, Apple, as well as Motorola are the top brands in this creative listing.
iPhone maker is already in the news for testing a clamshell-designed fold device. It may use a vertical folding mechanism, just like the Galaxy Z Flip series.
While it’s still unclear if Apple will really launch this new model in the consumer market, Huawei and Motorola have emerged in leaks for upgrading their small foldable phones by the end of this year.
That suggests Huawei has one more product that the Pura and Nova Flip folding phones in the pipeline. Perhaps, the company might iterate its cost-effective + premium-grade fusion – Pocket series, after a couple of years’ pause.

Pocket 2 launched in early 2024. Its upgrade was expected to debut in 2025. Though Huawei amazed everyone by introducing a new and wider form factor called Pura X.
Other folding devices remained the same throughout the year. But the company didn’t unveil any Pocket model. Thus, Huawei could bring back the Pocket lineup this year.
