Huawei is gearing up to distribute the January 2026 EMUI update for its top-end models, and in the latest edition, the company is serving this firmware and its improvements to the Pura 80 smartphones alongside a new security patch.
Earlier, we revealed that Huawei has released the January 2026 security patch for various EMUI devices. The list includes foldables ranging from the new Mate X7 to the old Mate X3, Mate 50 Pro, P60 Pro, and the Nova 13 handsets.
At the same time, the company is expanding HarmonyOS 6.0 upgrade for its wearables like the Watch GT 5 Pro, Watch FIT 4 Pro, and FreeBuds Pro 4 earbuds.
Coming to the latest activity, Huawei is sending the January 2026 EMUI improvements to the Pura 80 series with the 15.0.0.166 software version and a package size of 861 Megabytes.
The new update brings the January 2026 security patch to enhance the core system of the device. It eliminates the hidden bugs or issues found in the last software build and increases the phone’s potential to fight against privacy exploits.
On the other hand, the company has improved certain apps in terms of the user interface and improved their existing features. Though the app details are not mentioned in the changelog. You can check the update points below.

Note that this firmware is rolling out for the Pura 80 Pro and Ultra models. The company may soon release these improvements for the standard handset as well.
