A wild rumor suggests that Huawei could be fueling the Pura 90 Pro with a bigger battery. With every new-gen Pura smartphone, the company is taking the battery pack to the next level, and no doubt, it will continue the same theory in 2026!
Leaker FixedFocus revealed that the Huawei Pura 90 Pro could feature a bigger battery than 6000mAh capacity. Besides, the cell pack increment can also be visible for the standard version of the flagship series.
The tipster says the Pura 90 vanilla variant will have a 6000mAh battery, while the Pura 90 Pro model will have a 6500mAh cell pack. That’s quite a bigger cell capacity than the previous-gen smartphones.
Before proceeding, let’s go on the Pura smartphone battery journey.
Huawei launched the first Pura model – Pura 70, with a 4900mAh battery and the Pro phone with a 5050mAh cell. Meanwhile, this year’s Pura 80 has a 5600mAh cell pack, and the Pura 80 Pro comes with a 5700mAh battery capacity.
It’s clear that every year, Huawei has significantly increased the Pura phones’ cell capacity. And we can expect a similar treatment for 2026 Pura handsets.

The tipster further revealed the design details of these Pura models. He said the devices will be thinner than their predecessor. The standard Pura 90 could be 7.9mm thick, whereas the Pro handset might measure only 6.9mm in thickness.
Up to this point, Huawei has seeded such big batteries only in Enjoy smartphones. This year, the company packed a 6500mAh cell in its first Air phone.
Things improved further when the Mate 80 series debuted with a giant 6000mAh cell over the Mate 70 Pro+ (5700mAh). Perhaps, the company will soon reach Honor’s level in terms of equipping its flagship devices with jumbo cell packs.
For now, the Nova 15 series is on the way, and it would be interesting to know what the sub-flagship brings to the battery segment.
