Huawei is ruling the 2025 Chinese smartphone market and at the same time, it has topped the tablet segment, achieving the first spot. Whereas Apple has ranked second. A new report sheds light on the top five brands in the tablet battle for last year.
IDC has published the 2025 Chinese tablet market report, where the iPad maker is following Huawei with a significant gap in the market share. The other three brands are Lenovo, Xiaomi, and Honor. Except for Apple and Huawei, all brands are seeing a significant growth in their progress.
Starting with Huawei, the company led the Chinese tablet market in the last year. It accounts for 29.2% market share, regardless of the 3.1% YoY decline. For comparison, the tech giant scored 32.3% market share in 2024.
While Huawei ranked second in the Q4 2025 Chinese tablet race, giving the first spot to Apple, it managed to lead the sales segment based on the full-year performance.

Apple appeared in second place in 2025 with 24.5% of market share and 2.0% decrease in the annual growth rate. The company held 26.6% market share in 2024.
Xiaomi has ranked third with 13.1% of the market share and an increase of 4.0% year-on-year. The fourth spot goes to Lenovo with a market share of 9.7% and a surge of 3.0% year-on-year. The respective brand was the only one to see positive growth.
Honor has made its way to the fifth place with a market share of 7.7% and a year-on-year increase of 0.3% year-on-year. The overall tablet PC sales in China hit 33.76 million units in 2025. IDC says:
“The combined effect of Chinese subsidies effectively stimulated consumer confidence and purchasing decisions, significantly increasing users’ willingness to upgrade and improving sales conversion rates, thus driving double-digit growth in the market size for the year.”
