Huawei has now registered a new trademark named “Racing Legend”. And something even more interesting is that this trademark belongs to two different categories – scientific instruments and jewelry + smartwatches. Looks like the company is cooking up a new surprise for its consumers this year!
The tech giant is working on excellent products for the first half of 2026. It counts two new vertical foldable phones, the Pura 90 series, and more in the pipeline.
Amid these products, Huawei has now applied for a new trademark – the Racing Legend. Surprisingly, the company has covered two international classifications with this trademark: Class 9 – scientific instruments and Class 14 – smartwatches.
The authorized registration platform has not approved this trademark. As a result, it is currently awaiting substantive review. But this new move of Huawei has sparked discussions among consumers about a mysterious wearable product.
Some netizens speculated that there could be two possibilities behind this new trademark. The first one emphasize on smartwatch that matches the OEM’s latest move:
Secondly, the company might launch this trademark for smart cars as the term “Racing Legend” suits advanced smart self-driving vehicles rather than any device.
Moreover, it will be a perfect response to Tesla’s smart cars that are seeking new ways to enter the Chinese automobile market and rule it with its impressive models.

HuaweiCentral’s Take
Of course, both possibilities seem correct. Though we would like to stick to the smartwatch side. Huawei has recently joined hands with the DSM Firmenich, hinting at the rebirth of the iconic Watch GT Runner wearable.
And the latest trademark matches the name “GT Runner” to some extent. Since it belongs to the jewelry and smartwatch classes, we can expect it to be the moniker of the upcoming wearable.
