MateBook Pro is one of the most prominent models in the Huawei PC family, and after a wait of eight months, the company has finally revealed its Kirin chip identity. It’s the first time that the flagship notebook is displaying its official chipset insights.
The company is rolling out a new HarmonyOS 6.0 update for its eligible devices, including the Huawei MateBook Pro, which has disclosed the chip details for the PC.
Huawei has used the same chip for the MateBook Pro as for the Fold PC – Kirin X90. The 4+4+2 configuration chip has a 20-thread architecture with a maximum frequency of 4.2GHz. It uses Huawei’s self-developed GPU and NPU units.

After the update, users will observe that the system interface of the PC is now showing the chipset name – Kirin X90 for the first time. The device debuted in May 2025, but got the official chip details after eight months of its release in the market.
