Huawei has topped the Chinese smartphone market share ranking in Jan 2026, pushing back Apple to the second position. The company strongly maintained its first position with the highest market share – thanks to the Mate 80 flagship lineup.
A new chart has emerged on the internet showing the performance of all top brands in the Chinese smartphone market share for Jan 2026, and Huawei owns the first rank.
The ranking chart reveals that Huawei accounts for 18.6% of the market share, while Apple is in the second spot, holding 17.04%. The Chinese tech giant has pushed its rival back in the competition with its recent flagship smartphone creation.
Details mentioned that the strong sales of the Mate 80 series have made the company stand at the pinnacle of the Chinese smartphone market in January 2026.
Mate 80 smartphones’ total sales have reportedly reached around 2.5432 million units, defeating the Mate 70 series sales in the same period with a huge margin.

It seems the 2025 Mate lineup is seeing a strong demand in the consumer market, particularly for the standard version that comes with the 3D facial recognition feature at a pocket-friendly rate.
At the same time, it comes with excellent features that are often missing in the top-end variants. As a result, the Mate 80 device owns over 1.5 million activated units. The device has become the highest-selling single model among other top-end vanilla variants in the second half of last year.
Speaking of the other brands, Apple holds 17.04% market share in China’s smartphone sales and is ranked second. OPPO appears at the third spot with 16.59% market share, while Vivo showed up at fourth place with a market share of 16.26%.
Xiaomi ranked fifth with 14.39% market share, whereas Honor is in sixth position with a market share of 13.64%. It’s February, and it would be interesting to see if Huawei will continue to hold the leading position for the first quarter of this year or lose it to its rivals.
