Huawei has announced WiFi X, a new portable Wi-Fi device with an X-shaped design, a unique approach to providing wireless mobile internet connectivity.
Huawei is already a major player in selling Wi-Fi routers in the WiFi modem market thanks to its expertise in networking technologies. However, it continues to expand its consumer-friendly WiFi products with a unique design and increased ease of use.

The device looks like a smartphone when it’s closed. Once opened, it extends into an X shape with two bottom sides acting as legs to hold it still on a flat surface. Some of the details revealed in the video confirm that one of the top side’s panels has an X-shaped graphics similar to a smartphone’s rear design. And the opposite side has antennas for establishing a network connection.
The Huawei WiFi X integrates a display panel, which shows important statistics including battery level, signal strength, connection status, carrier name, and number of connected devices.

The design advancements make it highly portable and could be easily fit inside a backpack and set up anywhere within a limited space. WiFi X is a major leap in the user-friendly design that could be used for live streaming, designed for outdoors, and content creation.
The video lacks information about the network standard, which could be 5A, Huawei’s latest mobile supported speed standard, introduced with the Mate 80 series and later devices. 5A is an improved version of 5G, which improves the network speed, provides low latency, widens coverage, and strong network strength. It can be said that the 5A will be peak network availability, but it will 5G and LTE compatible.

The specs of this WiFi remain unknown, but it’s been announced that the WiFi X will launch in March 2026.
