Meta is once again up with the plans of launching a dynamic smartwatch in 2026. The company is reviving its ideas for a wearable after four years of complete silence. It seems the firm has finally got new ideas to build an iconic wrist gadget.
The Information reported that Meta will likely launch a smartwatch in 2026. The firm may unveil this creation alongside the new-gen Ray-Ban Display smart glasses.
Regarding the wearable, the report says that Meta is evaluating new health tracking features and smarter AI capabilities to embed them into its upcoming creation.
It’s not the first time, though, that Meta is planning to develop its first-ever smartwatch. The company has planned a similar move in 2022. But following the technical issues and cost problems in manufacturing, it cancelled the ideas.
Details further reveal that the new watch is codenamed Malibu 2. Other information about this wearable is unknown at present. Though it’s just the beginning of the product, we may soon hear more revelations about it.
Meta’s smartwatch in the market will intensify competition with Apple and Huawei that are currently ruling the wearable market worldwide. While one offers the label of premiumness, the other is defeating brands in battery life and health features.

It would be quite interesting to see if Meta’s smartwatch, coming this year, can break the standards set by Huawei and Apple in the wearable market. Or does it face more challenges against its rivals? Stay tuned.
