- This battery unit appears in the database with the model number EB-BU600AAY.
Through an APK teardown earlier this month, we learned that Samsung appeared to be working on a new entry to the Galaxy Buds line. The text strings suggested that this entry may be called the “Galaxy Buds Able” and that it may carry the model number SM-U600. Bringing this device closer to reality, a part for the device has now received certification.
The folks over at SammyGuru report that the battery unit for the Galaxy Buds Able was in the Bureau of Indian Standards’ (BIS) database. This battery unit happens to carry the model number EB-BU600AAY. It appears that there are no additional details about this battery unit or the Galaxy Buds Able.

On the surface, this may not seem all that significant, as it does not confirm anything. However, this spotting does at least provide further evidence that Samsung is indeed working on something.
The Galaxy Buds Able is a bit of a mystery due to its unusual codename and model number. As a refresher, Samsung normally gives its earbuds a codename based on historical composers. It also tends to stick an “SM-R” at the front of its earbud model numbers. However, the codename just appears as “able” and the model number is SM-U600.
It’s possible that Able is just a placeholder until Samsung settles on a name. There’s also a possibility that this is a different type of device, like a hearing aid. We can only speculate until more details start emerging.
