Honor ROBOT PHONE is on the way to hit the launch stage, and while it appears to be a fun concept, the company said that it has some serious goals behind it. What does the Chinese tech giant aim to achieve with this device? Let’s find out!
Fang Fei, the President of Honor Product Line, has given an exclusive interview where she said the ROBOT PHONE is not made for but to achieve real goals.
The executive elaborated on the vision for the ROBOT PHONE. She stated that the ROBOT PHONE aims to open new “form factor” chapters in the smartphone world.
According to Fang, a device should act as the brain of AI. It should have both perception and action capabilities. Here, cameras can work as the perception capabilities, though they lack action capabilities.
With this thought, the company has made the first-ever ROBOT PHONE that brings a gimbal technology – a good carrier for the camera’s moves and action traits.
Perhaps the true definition of HONOR ROBOT PHONE will be that it can take photos and also move around, enabling smart user interactions. The chief said that the device will extend the boundaries of phone making that are limited to the same design.
Fang Fei stated:
“The focus of ROBOT PHONE is not simply the gimbal camera, nor is it a concept phone made for fun. Rather, it is an exploration of the boundaries of mobile phone form factors, or a prediction of the decisive factors for the next stage of smart devices.”
She added that the ROBOT PHONE is not the end of Honor’s innovation. It has more amazing technologies that it will launch with the products coming in the future.
