Huawei has some significant specs upgrades for the standard Pura 90 that will even surpass the Pura 80 Ultra’s parameters. Not only in the chipset performance, but the new-gen smartphone may also surpass the high-end predecessor in many fields.
A new specs sheet has appeared on the internet, comparing the standard Huawei Pura 90 and the Pura 80 Ultra. And this comparison is really worth your attention.
Starting with the chipset, the specs sheet shows the Kirin 9030 5G for the Pura 90. That seems a significant upgrade over the Pura 80 Ultra that runs on Kirin 9020.
Although the new piece of information contradicts a previous input on this matter. Therefore, it’s currently difficult to say whether the current details will match the official ones.
The next superior upgrade is the battery. As per the specs sheet, the vanilla version may feature a 7000mAh cell pack supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. Comparatively, Pura, 80 Ultra has a 5700mAh cell and 100W+80W charging.
Early details suggested that Huawei is working on 7000mAh and higher-density batteries for the 2026 flagship. Hence, this input could be correct to some extent.
Camera segment can be another highlight of the standard Pura 90 over the Pura 80 Ultra. The specs sheet shows a five-camera setup including a big 200MP main camera, a 40MP ultrawide shooter, a 200MP periscope lens, a 50MP secondary zoom sensor, and the second-gen multispectral sensor.
If true, that will be a real upgrade in the Huawei smartphone family, making Pura 90 the first device with a dual 200MP camera system.

Other specifications include a 6.58-inch OLED flat screen with 1.5K + 120Hz refresh rate, 1440Hz PWM dimming, and second-gen Kunlun Glass, 3D face recognition, side fingerprint sensor, NearLink, and HarmonyOS 6.0.

Most of the specs seem to be part of high-end Pura 90 models rather than the standard version. Hence, it’s unclear if these specs will actually belong to the vanilla model or not. Perhaps we have to wait for more revelations on this matter before jumping to conclusions. For now, we can expect that Pura 90 will be better than the Pura 80 base and Pro handsets.
