Xiaomi is prepping the HyperOS 3.1 software version for its Chinese and global devices, but unfortunately, a few models will likely not get this major upgrade. Do check if your Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO smartphone is a part of this “ineligible list”.
HyperOS 3.1 beta testing is currently active in China. Meanwhile, the firm has started evaluating the new version for the global devices. Android 16-based upgrade is expected to go official in the first quarter of this year.
At the same time, Xiaomi users are concerned about whether their devices will or will not get the HyperOS 3.1 upgrade in the future. And we might have an answer!
Sources suggest that HyperOS 3.1 will run on Android 16 OS and needs new hardware. Hence, even some excellent flagships like Xiaomi 12 or POCO F5 won’t get the upgrade. Also, the budget-friendly handsets will also be out of this race.
Based on the company’s software rollout strategy, device launches, and their software support, the following devices may not receive HyperOS 3.1 in the future:

- Xiaomi 12S/12S Pro/12S Ultra
- Xiaomi 12T Pro
- Xiaomi MIX FOLD 2
- Xiaomi Pad 6 Max 14

- Xiaomi 13 Lite
Redmi
- Redmi K60/ K60 Pro
- Redmi K50 Ultra
- Redmi Note 12 Turbo
- Redmi Note 12T Pro
- Redmi Note 13 5G
- Redmi Note 13R Pro
POCO
- POCO F5 5G
- POCO F5 Pro
- POCO M6 Pro
- POCO X6 Neo
- POCO C65
Note that these devices may end up on Android 14 or Android 15 builds. Hence, you can continue to use them till their lifespan and switch to a new models or wait for the upcoming options.
