HyperOS 4 has started making waves in the news headlines, and Xiaomi will bring this upgrade to several devices in the future, but this one super excellent phone might miss this software blessing. This device belongs to the mid-range Redmi family.
Of course, it’s not surprising. While various devices get the chance to get a new software experience, many models leave the league every year as per their lifespan and upgrade support plan.
And Redmi Note 13 series is no exception in this theory. Yes, this iconic Xiaomi phone may not receive the HyperOS 4 software upgrade in the time ahead.
Inputs reveal that one of the best-selling Xiaomi lineups – the Redmi Note 13 series will soon join the final phase of its software support. The official Xiaomi EOL (End of Life) data shows that the respective series can only get major OS upgrades upto Android 16 iteration.
Thus, the following Redmi Note 13 models might not get the upcoming HyperOS iteration:
- Redmi Note 13 Pro
- Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G
- Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G
Redmi Note 13 models came out of the box with the Android 13-based software system. It received three major OS, including the final iteration – Android 16.
Meanwhile, the device will continue to get the security patch support till 2027 or maybe 2028. Though it might not be part of the HyperOS 4.0 upgrade pool.
Apart from the Redmi Note 13 series, the Xiaomi 12T could also miss the Android 17-based HyperOS iteration. Let’s see how many more models will join this room in the coming days.
