Huawei has opened a new HarmonyOS 6 update for its top-tier devices, but there are still many models that haven’t received the big upgrade yet, such as the largest Mate device – Mate TV, which will get the new software iteration in April 2026.
Today, Huawei conducted the HarmonyOS Smart Home Technology Communication Conference. During the event, the CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group Unit, He Gang, mentioned new details about the HarmonyOS 6 rollout.
According to the executive, the Huawei Mate TV device will receive its first HarmonyOS 6 upgrade in April. This new rollout will unlock a new and smarter experience for the corresponding device owners.
Mate TV debuted last year. It’s the first Mate smart screen in the Huawei family with premium-grade features and excellent software capabilities. It promises to deliver both a smartphone and TV experience in one device without any compromise.
Now the device is ready to grab a major upgrade – HarmonyOS 6. Huawei says that the new iteration will make the smart TV 15% smoother than the previous version.
In addition, the company will introduce several new applications, games, and features related to parent-child education + home office, fulfilling the diverse needs of users.
Huawei added that the Mate TV can become the largest central hub with a control screen in the whole house department, which will control many smart devices and make a smart home life more convenient. All this will become possible after the HarmonyOS 6.0 update installation.
