Xiaomi 17 phones getting LOFIC-powered camera and video features

Xiaomi is rolling out a new HyperOS 3.0 update for the Xiaomi 17 series, bringing new LOFIC-powered camera features. It has also enhanced some existing imaging functions. Users will now observe superior image and video quality than before.

Last month, the Camera Product Manager at Xiaomi – Bao Xiao Li stated that the company will soon release a new update for the Xiaomi 17 Pro models to add LOFIC-powered camera and video features, such as the 4K 60FPS features, and more.

After a month of wait, Xiaomi is bringing new LOFIC-based camera and video features for the Xiaomi 17 series. These additions will improve the overall video recording experience, offering better quality, brightness, and sharper details.

The company has added features like a full-frame recording mode for the rear screen camera, dynamic photo recording, custom toolbar and menu options, and more.

Xiaomi 17 series, particularly Pro models, are receiving these new camera and video features with the HyperOS 3.0.44.0 version. You can check the full changelog below.

• Adapted to the Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s smart scene widget feature. It now supports rear camera photo and video recording with a focus on optimizing shooting effects for scenarios such as fireworks and stage performances.
• LOFIC recording mode can be manually enabled. LOFIC feature can support a maximum resolution of 4K 60FPS (Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max only).
• The rear screen camera now features a full-frame recording mode, delivering a more immersive video selfie experience  (Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max only).
• Added a new feature to record dynamic photos. Capture exciting moments while recording video, ensuring you don’t miss a single dynamic scenario.
• Professional video recording LOG supports more LUTs. Previews during LOG recording are more vivid and realistic.
• Customizable top toolbar and menu feature positions. Adapts to individual user habits and improves camera operation efficiency.
• Added dual-view mode. Both front and rear cameras record simultaneously, enriching creative possibilities and meeting the needs of creative video expression.
• Shooting effects in slow motion, night scenario videos, and ultrawide-angle distortion correction.
