Xiaomi 17 Series has launched in the global market with software support for six years. Yes, the company will continuously release HyperOS major + security updates for the newly unveiled flagship lineup, probably till 28th February 2032.
During the official launch event, the company announced six years of new HyperOS software update support for the Xiaomi 17 series. Under this plan, the flagship will get up to Android 21 or Android 22 iteration.
Simply put, the last major software upgrade for the Xiaomi 17 series will be the HyperOS 8 in 2032. Apart from major OS builds, the company will also launch security rollouts, improvement patches, and new feature updates for the models.
Notably, the software support for Xiaomi 17 series is less than Samsung Galaxy S26 models. The South Korean tech giant promises 7 years of Android OS and security updates for its top-edge smartphone lineups.
But Xiaomi HyperOS rollout plan has its own benefits. The OEM keeps dropping new changes and prominent features in a timely manner for its devices without waiting for any major software upgrade rollout.
