Xiaomi 18 Pro could take over Huawei/Honor in dual 200MP camera race

Dual 200MP camera is one of the most interesting topics in the mobile phone world these days, and it seems the Xiaomi 18 Pro will probably be the first device to feature this particular imaging setup in its top internal specifications.

Huawei Pura 90 Ultra and Honor Magic 9 Pro flagships were in the news for using two 200MP cameras and elevating the standard of mobile phone photography for other competitors.

But the latest leak suggests that the Xiaomi 18 Pro is testing a dual 200MP camera. If true, the company will likely take over Huawei and Honor in the imaging game.

DigitalChatStation noted that a new non-super flagship device has started testing for double 200MP camera sensors. Netizens speculated the device to be Xiaomi 18 Pro.

Interestingly, Xiaomi is taking this “dual 200MP imaging lenses” concept to a different level. Instead of keeping this particular camera specification confined to the Ultra or Pro Max models, the company may use it in the ‘plain Pro’ edition as well.

Xiaomi has been using a 200MP camera lens since the Xiaomi 12T device. Although this would be the first time the company will use a dual 200MP imaging setup, probably one for the primary sensor and a zoom sensor.

On the other hand, netizens predicted that the company may introduce a 200MP periscope for the standard model as well. And this could be a big upgrade in the lineup.

What exact imaging sensors Xiaomi uses for its 2026 flagship lineup is currently unclear. Though if the latest revelations are accurate, we may see a new level of smartphone competition among the top Chinese rivals in 2026.
