Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition has remained in the spotlight for its camera features, but it seems this light has dimmed the glow of the device due to its loose zoom ring. Is that just a normal mechanism or a major hardware glitch? Well, Xiaomi has the answer.
Some early users of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition noticed that even though the phone is a star in itself, it has a loose camera ring. This news sparked various types of discussions among Xiaomi fans about its brand-new creation.
According to the details, the camera ring can easily be rotated by a simple tap. It even made some sounds while moving the ring to and fro, leading to users’ concerns.
However, Xiaomi has shared a special video to calm down its users and make them understand why the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica’s camera ring seems quite loose.
Is it on purpose? YES!
Xiaomi says that using a working mechanism in the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition’s slim profile was a major challenge. That’s why the company has used a special “sandwich” format to craft the zoom ring with around 26 separate components.
To avoid these components from breaking due to a small drop, dirt, or liquid, the company ensured that the camera ring can move in every way smoothly.
Hence, if you shake the ring or even simply tap it, the component might shift, or you may hear a mechanical sound. But that’s totally normal, and there is nothing to worry about.
Describing the durability of the camera ring, Xiaomi revealed that it has surpassed various tests like drops, dust exposure, water, high humidity, temperature, and the most tricky challenge – multiple constant rotations.
So you can take a breath of relief as the device has no problems and its zoom ring can run in a long lifespan race seamlessly and efficiently.
