Xiaomi is not only working on a special AI assistant for its smartphones but also developing a special artificial intelligence operating system called – AIOS. The company has officially revealed its plans for this dedicated OS for its handsets.
Lei Jun – the CEO of Xiaomi, has recently attended an interview with the CCTV channel, where he revealed that the company is working on AIOS for its smartphones.
AIOS – AI Operating System aims to transform how users interact with Xiaomi devices. Lei said that this move will appear as a major pillar in the software ecosystem.
Inputs suggest that Xiaomi’s self-developed operating system for devices, HyperOS, will work as the foundation of the AIOS, handling complex tasks autonomously.
Hence, AIOS will likely deliver more intuitive tools and features to users in their daily lives. It will likely predict users’ needs and can easily manage smart home products.
The chief further mentioned that Xiaomi’s intelligent ecosystem not only includes software but also a deep fusion of hardware and AI. As for now, the company is putting efforts to position itself as a global leader in hardcore technology, where AIOS will contribute significantly to its growth.
Following these changes, Xiaomi has planned to invest around $27.8 billion (200 billion yuan) into research and development over the next five years. What else the company is planning to initiate this year will be known later.
