Huawei has recently introduced a Purple color variant for the MatePad Mini and MatePad Pro 12.2, and today, this shade is open for its first sale. The tech giant availed this option on its official e-commerce channel VMall at an effective cost rate.
It looks like Huawei is expanding its Purple family to more products. The shade has been tagged as the luxurious varriant. Now it is moving towards more handsets.
On March 23, the Chinese OEM unveiled a Purple color variant for its top tablets, the Huawei MatePad Mini and MatePad Pro 12.2, and it is now available for sale.
The pricing details are as follows:
MatePad Mini Reading Purple variant has two storage options: 12GB + 256GB for 3299 yuan, and the regular PaperMatte model with 12GB + 256GB costs 3799 yuan.
Besides, the MatePad Pro 12.2 12GB + 512GB Purple variant costs 4499 yuan. Its normal PaperMatte version with 12GB + 512GB wears a price tag of 5099 yuan.
Note: These models support Chinese subsidy plans and can get a price reduction of 500 to 1000 yuan as per storage variant on Huawei VMall.

The special reading variant comes with an 8.8-inch screen supporting the PaperMatte technology with 1800nits peak brightness. It is a tough rival for Apple’s iPad Mini, which is wrapped in a small body but offers some incredible upgrades.
On the other hand, the Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 sports a dual-layer OLED + PaperMatte screen tech. It has achieved an industry-leading brightness of 2000 nits and claims to offer a PC-level experience with a wide range of native apps.
The flagship tablet also comes with a 10100mAh battery, charging up to 85% in 40 minutes. It is compatible with a Huawei Keyboard and Stylus.
