After a nine-month wait, details of the Huawei Watch 5 chipset are finally coming to light. The flagship smartwatch debuted on stage last year in June, alongside a few hints about its internal chip. However, the company has now unveiled the precise information on this matter.
Huawei is rolling out a big software update – HarmonyOS 6.0.0.328 beta for its smartphones, tablets, and wearables. The Watch 5 is no exception to this update pool and is grabbing the new testing build with a handful of interesting features.
But apart from new changes, the latest update for the Huawei Watch 5 is revealing chipset details for the first time. The iconic model equips the Kirin W80 processor.
This is the same chipset as the Watch Ultimate 2. When paired with the new HarmonyOS 6.0, the Kirin W80 results in system-level optimization and delivers a 30% performance improvement over the previous-generation smartwatch.
Some earlier leaks suggested that Huawei is using Kirin W80 chip for the Watch 5 model. Though the company didn’t officially reveal it on the stage or in the wearable.
Now it has confirmed the things with the latest HarmonyOS 6 update. A few users who installed the new firmware reported that the wearable now shows the chip details.
Apart from the chip info display, the HarmonyOS 6.0.0.328 update brings the following features and improvements to the Huawei Watch 5 models:
