Huawei Pura 90 series is gaining traction in the leak world for its zoom camera these days, and the latest input on this topic hints that the OEM will use SmartSens SCC80XS sensor with new video capabilities such as 4K 120 fps recording.
A Weibo tipster said the Huawei Pura 90 series will likely use the brand-new SmartSens SCC80XS zoom lens coupled with smarter video features and imaging capabilities.
SmartSens SCC80XS was launched in late 2025. It adopts a 22nm stacked process with 0.61µm pixels and advanced technology. Together, all these components promise improved low-light performance, higher dynamic range, and power efficiency.

The new SCC80XS follows a 1/1.28-inch format, which is a significant size for a high amount of light intake. Meanwhile, the 22nm stacked process can optimize noise control by up to 50%. Moreover, the video quality can reach 4K with 120fps.
Further, the latest SmartSens creation supports in-sensor 2x and 4x zoom capabilities. You can check more details about this recently released camera in the list below.

It is generally a 200MP camera with major zooming enhancements. Note that the sensor hasn’t leaked for the first time. But the current details hint that there is a greater chance for Huawei to pick this choice rather going for OmniVision’s OV52A lens.
One major change here could be the shift in models. Earlier, the same lens was expected to debut with the Pura 90 Ultra. But going with the current rumors of “Ultra” omission, Huawei might use this sensor for the Pura 90 PRO MAX handset.
Pura 90 series will bring surprising camera upgrades over the previous-gen models. However, these new amendments are currently under wraps. Perhaps things will become clearer as we approach the expected release date of the 2026 Pura flagship.
