Huawei Mate 80 vanilla version has been doing great in the smartphone sales market, but a Nova phone surpassed the flagship with its ultimate demand among consumers. This device is the standard Nova 15, which has gained a lot of traction in the 12th week of 2026.
RDObservation on Weibo revealed that the Huawei Nova 15 series has crossed 2.67 million units in sales. The mid-range lineup is now moving towards the 3 million mark. After Mate 80, the new Nova phones are showing great sales performance.
In addition, the tipster revealed that the standard Nova 15 phone ranked fourth in the 12th week of 2026 smartphone sales race, defeating Huawei Mate 80 flagship.
The first three spots were occupied by the Apple iPhone 17 family for the top-grade features and catchy appearance. The Pro Max is at the top, then comes the vanilla variant, and the iPhone 17 Pro appears in third place in the list.
Although Huawei Nova 15 captured the fourth spot. Notably, the Mate 80 standard variant slipped to the ninth position and was standing behind the Honor X70.
Inputs suggest that the Huawei Nova 15 base version has become the best-selling smartphone of the 12th week in China – thanks to its pocket-friendly traits.
