Huawei MatePad Mini Reading Edition is a tablet designed for e-book readers, and Huawei has just made it budget-friendly with a new price decline. This new discount is now in effect on the standard and PaperMatte editions, which are now reduced by 300 yuan, leaving the final prices at 2999 yuan and 3499 yuan, respectively.
Compared to the standard version, the MatePad Mini Reading Edition does not support BeiDou satellite, and the USB interface has been downgraded from 3.0 to 2.0. Another major change: this tablet now equips Kirin 9010b, down from 9010. The former has two fewer cores than the latter.
Introduced in September, the Huawei MatePad Mini tablet comes with a super handy design, while providing a sleek user experience. It’s a 5.1mm thin design and 255g lightweight.

The device is all about its screen, featuring an 8.8-inch flexible OLED with a 2.99mm ultra-narrow bezel. It’s a 92% screen-to-body ratio, while the 2.5K resolution makes the on-screen content crisp and high-quality. The 120Hz refresh rate smoothens the UI interactions. The tablet offers 1800 nits of peak brightness, making it compatible with daylight scenarios.
The Papermatte edition comes with a soft light screen that features optical film materials to reduce flicker interference, resulting in soft and uniform light emission. Nano-magnetic control optical coating technology, combined with nano-etching technology, reduces glare interference to handle complex light environments.
The tablet packs a large 6400mAh battery, which could be charged with a 66W super-fast charging capability. Huawei MatePad Mini brings a three-dimensional heat dissipation architecture, allowing heat to be quickly conducted to the back cover and screen, ensuring efficient heat dissipation and stable operation. The side of the tablet features a one-click unlock with fingerprint recognition.
