Huawei Pura 90 chip offers 15% performance boost over Pura 80

Alongside camera and battery specs, Huawei has significantly upgraded the Kirin chip performance for the Pura 90 vanilla version. The device can deliver 15% improved operation fluency and efficiency over the previous-generation Pura phone.

However, there’s a catch!

In case you are thinking that the Huawei Pura 90 performance is powered by the Kirin 9030S chip, then your speculation is wrong! The vanilla model runs on the Kirin 9010S – the same mobile processor used for the standard Pura 80 handset.

Apart from the Pura 80 base smartphone, the company has used the Kirin 9010S for the Nova 15 Ultra. And now it has made its way to the newly launched Pura phone.

Kirin 9010S uses the SMIC N+2 process with an 8-core, 12-thread CPU. It has one TaiShan V121 2.5GHz super core, three TaiShan V121 2.05GHz large cores, and four A510 1.5GHz energy-efficient cores. For the GPU, it uses a Maleoon 910/920C.

Despite the same chipset, Huawei Pura 90 claims to deliver 15% improved functioning over its predecessor. However, the question is – how is that even possible?

Well, all thanks to HarmonyOS 6.1, which features deep collaboration between software, hardware, chips, and cloud technology. Together, it provides a rapid response and powerful performance with smoother operations.

How much better the newly unveiled device works in terms of performance over the Pura 80 smartphone will be known once it enters the real-world market.
