Huawei recently attended the 2026 Indonesia International Coal and Energy Expo where it officially introduced AI-driven Mining Solutions primarily for core production operations. The company calls these new solutions safe and highly efficient.
Starting with the ongoing challenges in the mining sector, Andy Wu – Huawei Mining BU President revealed that the industrial diesel prices increased by 44% in Q1 2026.
The executive mentioned that despite the presence of world-class machinery, limited network coverage and intermittent data flow leave site conditions invisible and assets underutilized. Hence, even advanced equipment led to outdated operations.
Although the all-new AI-powered Huawei Mining Solutions for Indonesia are focusing on three crucial pillars – connectivity, smart orchestration, and green practices.
- Deterministic Connectivity: Utilizing 5G and industrial optical networks to link pits, roads, and wharves into a high-reliability network, transforming data into a true factor of production.
- Smart Scheduling: By breaking down data silos, mines can achieve reduced empty runs and higher equipment utilization. AI-driven technologies enhance overall collaborative efficiency across the site.
- Green Energy: Huawei is actively facilitating the transition from traditional fuel to solar-powered green electricity.
Andy further said that Huawei is committed to liberating miners from dust and rain, allowing them to work from modernized command centers.
The company will continue its R&D investment and collaborate with global and local partners to inject new momentum into high-quality mining development, jointly shaping a sustainable and digitally empowered future for the industry.
