Honor is considering to launch three models in the WIN 2 series, including a special edition. The new variant will likely debut with a flagship mobile chip, a high-refresh-rate screen, and a massive battery pack. The leak also reveals other key specs.
Earlier, Weibo tipster DigitalChatStation reported that the Honor WIN 2 series will bring three models this year, unlike the previous-generation gaming lineup.
Now the tipster has revealed more information about the Honor WIN 2 series special edition. The lineup can consist of three models: Pro, Standard, and a base/enhanced/special variant.
Details reveal that the special edition could feature a 6.83-inch screen with a 1.5K resolution and an 185Hz ultra-high refresh rate. Just like the other two WIN 2 series models, the pocket-friendly variant may also use a flat screen panel.
The device will further equip the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. High-end WIN 2 series smartphones could run on the upcoming 8 Elite Gen 6 processor. The third model can also introduce a battery larger than 10000mAh. But the exact capacity is unclear.
Honor will likely continue using a built-in active cooling fan technology in the alleged third model. Other specifications include a metal middle frame for a slim design profile, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and Android 17-based MagicOS 11.
Following the leak, many netizens expected the third device to be the WIN RT Enhanced Edition. As per the details in the comments section, the other two models – standard and Pro will likely appear almost the same in terms of core configurations.
Honor hasn’t commented on this news yet. Hence, it is unclear if the company is really planning a third model for the WIN series or just looking for such an approach. There’s still a lot of time in the WIN 2 series launch, and till then, we may get clearer details about its third member.
