Huawei is reportedly testing an interesting imaging tech, probably for the 2027 Pura phones – multi-camera fusion. Alongside boosting performance in its handsets, the company will integrate many other solutions that can uplift the photography aspect.
Weibo tipster @DigitalChatStation noted that one of the top 5 Chinese phone brands is currently testing the cutting-edge multi-camera fusion tech in its laboratory.
The tipster said this technology will be a fusion of main, ultrawide, and zoom sensors with multispectral imaging capabilities, leading to more dynamic color reproduction.
For better improvements, the company evaluating the new camera tech will likely use a proprietary CMOS sensor coupled with a customized (redesigned) lens module.
Even though the tipster didn’t mention the brand name testing the respective imaging solution, terms like multispectral lenses and custom design hint that it’s HUAWEI. The tipster added that impressive camera features are coming next year.

Based on the given details, it appears Huawei could use this multi-camera fusion tech for its imaging flagship – the Pura 100 series phones. The firm has already entered the “200MP lens” trend and is seemingly exploring bigger changes for 2027.
Multi-camera fusion technology refers to combining distinct camera lenses and enabling them to work together, creating a single, high-quality image. In simple words, the imaging system in the module can collect data from many lenses at the same time.
As a result, it lessens inequality in color, exposure, and resolution. On the greener side, it improves the overall smoothness and details of the image while zooming.
If Huawei is integrating a multispectral sensor into every major lens, it’ll lead to brighter shots and ultimate color accuracy, regardless of the lighting and distant conditions of the subject. Although how far this leak will align with reality is unclear.
The company will, of course, bring new changes for the next-gen Pura models. But whether these upgrades will be the same as mentioned in the leak is worth looking forward to!
