Honor plans to expand its Android Phone business in Canada

Honor is seemingly preparing to sell its Android phone and tablet products in Canada. A new report suggests that the company is planning to raise the prospect of a deeper industrial commitment by using usual ways, like those of telecom companies.

While the doors have been closed for Huawei devices in Canada for years, it looks like Honor will open them for itself this time to expand its Android Phone Business in different markets.

Following the US ban, Huawei cut off its ties with Honor to avoid any kind of restrictions on the sub-brand. Later, the Magic phone maker turned out to standalone and spun off into its own company and made an empire both in and outside China.

In the latest edition, Honor is readying itself to bring its phones and tablets to a significant market – Canada, thanks to the speech delivered by Prime Minister Mark Carney at the World Economic Forum in Davos that gained the firm’s attention.

Matthew Palmer, the former General Motors executive, who is somehow helping Honor to enter Canada, explained what exactly attracted the company’s mindset:

“Maybe now is the time to look at Canada as one of our next markets. Honor was at Davos and was impressed – it made an impact. So if you look at an innovation economy with stability, Canada starts to look pretty favourable.”

The report further reveals that Honor will not only bring its phone business to Canada, but also initiate things like research and development. It doesn’t stick to any limitations, unlike many other Chinese tech firms. Hence, it can make a move.

Nothing Confirmed:

The company hasn’t decided anything yet on this matter. Perhaps it is still trying to find out if it can and how. But since Honor is already gaining space in markets like the EU and the UK, it may boost an interesting smartphone competition in Canada.
