During the ICPC and Huawei Challenge Championship event, the Founder – Ren Zhengfei, mentioned that the company has plans to adopt quantum computing tech in the near future. Although there is a catch in this theory. Let’s find out!
Before understanding Huawei’s plans for the ultimate technology. Let’s first learn about the respective tech and its benefits that can help the firm boost its growth.
Quantum computing is a type of computing that uses the principles of quantum mechanics to solve complex operations exponentially faster than classical computing.
Unlike traditional computing, which relies on bits (0 or 1), quantum computing uses qubits that allow computers to perform multiple calculations at once by coupling effects like superposition and entanglement.
Ren said that Huawei will likely use this ultimate technology in the future by cooperating with several enterprises and industry experts to elevate its technological progress.
Although the company will not enter the R&D field of quantum computing. Rather, it would apply the tech to different aspects. The founder said that Huawei cannot undertake the challenges of quantum research. But once quantum PCs are developed, the firm will purchase them.
Besides, Ren believes that quantum computing cracks various encryption systems. Though the firm will manage this issue when the time comes. He said there will be a surplus of computing power in the time ahead, and not a shortage.
Zhengfei said:
“Quantum computing is a national-level issue, and while Huawei may adopt it in the future, it will not lead its research and development.”
