Huawei is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its smartwatches with the launch of a special Watch edition on December 22, and here’s everything that you need to know about this new wearable.
In September 2015, Huawei introduced its first-generation smartwatch with a circular design featuring a 1.4-inch AMOLED screen. Since then, the tech firm has introduced around 30 smartwatches in the Watch, Watch GT, Watch Ultimate, and other limited edition brands. These watches have evolved in technology and design with user-centric features.
That said, 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of Huawei’s smartwatches, and here are some things that we noticed in the watch through a teaser image.

This watch is a Watch 5 replica, released earlier this year. However, it has custom watch faces that match the blue color tone of the frame and the strap.
This watch has a nylon braided silicone composite strap. The outer layer adds a soft, breathable, and lightweight braided or woven nylon material. The outer layer also emprints a 10th anniversary logo in blue color.

The strap also incorporates a silicone component in the inner layer for a flexible and skin-friendly foundation. Since this new wearable is following the Watch 5, here’s what you can expect in terms of build and design.
The watch sports an LTPO 2.0 AMOLED color screen with 3000-nit peak brightness, protected with spherical sapphire glass for high strength. The case is made of aerospace-grade titanium alloy.
On the right side of the watch sports multi-sensing X-Tap sensor, which combines ECG, PPG, and a 10-level Tactile Sensor into a single module. The sensor enables a seamless health checkup with a press-and-hold action for 3 seconds. The X-Tap also introduced the heart rate variability (HRV) metric.
Furthermore, the watch packs innovative touch-free interactions with smart gestures to attend a call and switch options. The 10th anniversary Huawei Watch is not much different from the Watch 5, but its new theme and strap make it look like a special edition wearable.
