Huawei Nova 15 Ultra vs Nova 14 Ultra: Five major differences

Huawei Nova 15 Ultra carries dynamic upgrades over the Nova 14 Ultra and in case you are wondering about the new changes, we’re up with five subtle yet significant differences between the newly launched and the 2024 Nova Ultra phones.

The company has just turned out the Nova phones completely this time. No more elongated camera look, or a few improvements in the chip tech performance.

Instead, Huawei has twisted the Nova 15 Ultra phone and added iconic differences over the Nova 14 Ultra handset. What are these changes? Let’s explore:

1. Slimness like no other Nova phone!

Huawei Nova 15 Ultra is the slimmest Nova handset in the company’s history. The company has reduced the device’s thickness by 12.6% over the Nova 14 Ultra.

While crafting the model, the Chinese OEM has used brilliant materials like an aerospace-grade metal frame that not only maintains rigidity but also makes it lightweight. Besides, these components enhance durability of the phone.

Comparison: The Nova 14 Ultra measures 7.78mm in thickness. On the other hand, the newly launched model is 6.8mm thick. Hence, Nova 15 Ultra is not only the thinnest Nova, but also the thinnest Ultra model in the industry.

2. Design – the dual ring game

Being a Nova phone owner, users only expected subtle shifts in design and camera module. Although Huawei has just turned the game with an iconic horizontally-arranged dual-ring appearance on the Nova 15 Ultra’s back panel.

Unlike the Nova 14 Ultra that has a wider pill-like camera structure with the same checkered look found in Nova 13 Pro (the difference is golden color), the new Nova Ultra phone has a brick-like camera bump with a streamlined green body.

3. Dual Multispectral camera

Not one, but Huawei has seeded two multispectral camera sensors in the Nova 15 Ultra. Of course, the previous-gen models also support a special multispectral lens. But it’s not as good as the latest variant. This is really a “double surprise” point.

Huawei Nova 15 Ultra has a 1.5MP multispectral camera on the rear side, and the same lens on the front face, boosting color accuracy for both portrait and selfie shots. Thus, you will get glorious pictures from both cameras.

4. Kirin 9010S: Power-packed performance

Chipset is another highlight in the Nova 15 Ultra. Instead of the Kirin 8 series chip like the predecessor, Huawei has implemented the 9010S 5G (first debuted with the standard Pura 80).

When compared to Kirin 8020 5G chip, the Kirin 9010S-powered Nova 15 Ultra offers 18% improved performance with a 50% hike in the game frame rate stability, supporting instant app launches, loading, and fusion scheduling.

5. Battery – the biggest!

Huawei Nova 15 Ultra brings a 1000mAh battery capacity increase over the predecessor model. The previous-gen Nova Ultra phone packs a 5500mAh cell pack with 100W wired superfast charging.

On the other hand, the Nova 14 Ultra has a 6500mAh cell with the same charging power. Though the reliability and endurance to keep your phone alive even on one charge are more in the newly launched model!

That’s it! These are the five major differences between the Nova 15 Ultra and the Huawei Nova 14 Ultra smartphones.
