Rumor has it that Huawei will launch the Pura 90 series phones sooner than expected. While the previous-gen models appeared in June last year, the company may gear up the release time of the new handsets by one month this time.
DirectorShiGuan noted that Huawei began working on a pinnacle imaging flagship for 2026 – the Pura 90 series, which will likely launch sooner than the Pura 80 models.
The tipster suggested that the 2026 Pura smartphone lineup will debut in May. That’s one month earlier than the previous-generation handsets launched on June 12, 2025.
Interestingly, the new launch timeline is different from a previous rumor, which implied that the Pura 90 would debut in April 2026. The timeline was similar to that of the first Pura 70 series smartphones launched in China.
Overall, the leak indicates that the Pura phones will launch in the second quarter of the year, as usual. Things will probably get clearer on this topic in the coming months. Apart from the release time, the tipster also hinted at some other aspects.
The tipster said the Pura 90 series will reach new heights in the mobile phone imaging field, featuring cutting-edge technologies and redefined hardware components.
Huawei has seemingly mastered the art of combining hardware upgrades with new software algorithms. This particular move helps the company to offer a completely different camera + photography experience to its consumers every time.
In the latest edition, the company is trying to step into the 200MP camera trend with the Pura 90 models. It is further working on a dual zoom setup that will set a new standard for macro photography.
