Honor Magic 8 Pro smartphone’s camera evaluation results are now out by DXOMARK. The flagship has made its way to the top 10 handsets in the global imaging handset market. Though it is still behind some of its top-end competitors.
DXOMARK has updated its camera smartphone ranking list, and in the current scenario, the Honor Magic 8 Pro appears in the sixth spot. On the other hand, the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra continues to rule in first place with ultimate imaging specs.
Magic 8 Pro has outpaced the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL in the global camera ranking. It has scored 164 points (1 point more than the flagship Pixel smartphone).
The smartphone camera analyst highlighted some solid strengths for the Magic 8 Pro. The device delivers good detail in wide dynamic range shots, bright light for photos + video, long telephoto ranges, neutral white balance, and pleasant skin tone.

One of the best low noise levels in most conditions. It brings accurate target exposure to photos and videos, sharpening the details without any loss of quality.
Now let’s take a look at the cons of the camera flagship that made it land on the sixth spot in the DXOMARK ranking. These demerits are as follows:
- Occasional exposure instabilities in video and across consecutive shots.
- Sometimes inaccurate color rendering in video.
- Visible noise in indoor and low-light environments, particularly with scene motion in video.
- Limited detail in challenging lighting conditions in the video
In terms of use cases, the Magic 8 Pro achieved 160 points in the portrait, 142 points in the lowlight photos and videos, and 155 points in zooming capability while capturing photos and videos. The main, ultrawide, and zoom sensors scored 171, 167, and 168 points, respectively.
Honor Magic 8 Pro supports a 50MP (f/1.6, 23mm) with a 1/1.3-inch size format, a 50MP ultrawide-angle, and a 200MP periscope telephoto with 3.7x zoom function.
